Funeral services for Peter James Kennedy, father of priest

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 21 in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Indialantic, Fla., for Peter James Kennedy who died Sept. 17 at age 80. Mr. Kennedy was the father of Father Michael Kennedy, parochial vicar of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Burlington.

Originally from Philadelphia, Mr. Kennedy was a graduate of La Salle University, Philadelphia, and a U.S. Navy veteran. He and his wife, Anne, who he married on Dec. 28, 1968, raised their family in Manasquan before retiring to Indialantic.

Mr. Kennedy was predeceased by his wife, who died in 2017, his parents, a sister and three brothers. In addition to Father Kennedy, he is survived by four daughters, Cathy Simpson, Kristen Jacobson, Elizabeth Smith, and Mary Kennedy; two sons, Sean and Brian; five grandchildren; two sisters, and many extended family members.

Memorial donations may be sent to William Child Hospice House, 381 Medplex Parkway, Palm Bay, Fla. 32907.
