Funerals services will be held in IHM Center, Scranton, Pa., for Immaculate Heart of Mary Sister M. Jane Frances Dunnigan who died Nov. 21.

A viewing will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 25 in IHM Center, 2300 Adams Ave., Scranton, Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Nov. 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the IHM Center.

Born in 1943 in Weehawkin and given the name Barbara Frances, she entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary community Sept. 8, 1960. She made her temporary profession of vows June 26, 1963 and her final profession of vows June 26, 1968.

Sister Jane Frances earned a bachelor of arts degree in French/Latin and a master of science degree in theology from Marywood College, Scranton, and a master of arts degree in French from Assumption College, Worcester, Mass.

In the ministry of education, she taught in schools in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, New York and New Jersey. In the Trenton Diocese, she taught in Red Bank Catholic High School, Red Bank, from 2001 to 2012 and then as the school’s assistant campus minister from 2012 to 2015. She returned to the IHM Center in 2015 and worked in the development office as an assistant.

Sister Jane Frances was predeceased by her parents and three brothers. She is survived by two brothers, a sister, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews as well as members of the IHM congregation.

Burial was in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, Pa.
