Funeral services set for John Gilligan, candidate in diocesan diaconate formation program

John Gilligan, a candidate in the diocesan diaconate formation program, died Nov. 7. He was 61.

Funeral services will begin with a Nov. 12 viewing in the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. On Nov. 13, a service will be held at the funeral home at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Catherine Laboure Church, 110 Bray Ave., N., Middletown.

Mr. Gilligan was born in Red Bank to David and Geraldine (Nesbihal) Gilligan and devoted 30 years of service to Middletown Township.

He is survived by his half-sister, Patricia Gilligan, and cousin, George Ruf.

Burial will be held at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
