Each year, Catholics in the universal Church honor the sanctity of Holy Matrimony on the second Sunday of February with various festivities, programs and resources for parish communities across the globe.

The diocesan Department of Youth, Marriage and Family Life is preparing for its own celebration of this occasion, with a World Marriage Day Mass and Dinner Dance Feb. 7 in St. David the King Parish, West Windsor. All married couples in the Diocese of Trenton are invited to attend.

Couples of all ages are invited to begin the evening with Mass at 4 p.m., followed by appetizers and champagne at 5 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 6 p.m. The dinner will be paired with complimentary red or white wine, as well as a special talk from Msgr. Thomas Gervasio, diocesan vicar general. The evening will also feature DJ Lou Costa, dancing, games and prizes, until 10 p.m.

The celebration continues an annual observance of World Marriage Day within the Diocese of Trenton dating back to 2006, when the Department of Youth, Marriage and Family Life began the tradition.

Registration must be made prior to Feb. 1, and the cost is $75 per couple, payable with a credit card or check. To register online, visit www.dioceseoftrenton.org/worldmarriageday. You may also contact Jossie Ruiz at 609-403-7151, [email protected].

In addition to World Marriage Day, National Marriage Week is being observed from Feb. 7-14, and this year’s theme is “Let’s Strengthen Marriage.”
