William Bacovin, brother of Msgr. Ronald Bacovin

Msgr. Ronald Bacovin, pastor of St. James Parish, Pennington, and diocesan director of Priest Personnel, was principal celebrant of a Mass of Christian Burial Feb. 19 in St. James Church for his brother, William T. Bacovin. Mr. Bacovin, who was 80 years old, died Feb. 14 in Compassionate Care Hospice, Trenton, after a long and brave struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born in Trenton, Mr. Bacovin was a resident of the city for most of his life. He also lived in Bordentown before moving to Fairless Hills, Pa., four years ago.
Mr. Bacovin was a graduate of Trenton Catholic High School, and attended Trenton Junior College. For 25 years he served with the Trenton Fire Department including as captain of Engine 8 in West Trenton. He also served at Fire Headquarters. Following his retirement from the fire department, he became a licensed fire inspector.
Mr. Bacovin was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, having attained the rank of corporal in the Artillery. He was an avid reader with interests in astronomy, anthropology, history and politics. He enjoyed distance running for many years.
In addition to Msgr. Bacovin, Mr. Bacovin is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alice M. Bacovin; three children, Craig W. (Julianne) Bacovin of Allentown; Barrie (William) Chase of Fairless Hills, and John C. (Susan) Bacovin of Florence; eight grandchildren; one sister; another brother; two sisters-in-law, and nine nieces and nephews.
Entombment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
