WFJS to broadcast full, live coverage of events
July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
WFJS 1260 AM and 89.3 FM will feature a week of special programming in honor of the World Meeting of Families and the visit of Pope Francis to the United States in September. An affiliate of EWTN, WFJS will carry the network’s feed live.
The station is preparing to broadcast a range of programs and coverage of the historic events in Washington, New York City and Philadelphia. Included in the tentative lineup are segments from the World Meeting of Families, as well as Pope Francis speaking at the White House, his subsequent address to Congress and Masses he will celebrate in the three East Coast cities.
WFJS also hopes to air locally produced programs during the momentous days, featuring guests and topics based in the Diocese of Trenton.
Jim Manfredonia, CEO and president of Domestic Church Media, Trenton, the parent organization for WFJS, said that the station is fortunate to be an affiliate of EWTN, and able to carry broadcasts of special events such as the World Meeting of Families.
“At a time when the family is under such vicious attack, Domestic Church Media is committed to promoting the Church’s teaching on marriage and family,” he said. “Catholic radio provides easy opportunities for people to listen at their convenience and learn about the faith - and with this major Church event taking place right in our area, our coverage will allow people who cannot get to Philadelphia to participate.”
