West End parish to hold Mass in Tagalog

A Mass in the Tagalog language will be celebrated Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. in St. Michael Church, 800 Ocean Ave., West End.
According to Father Mark Nillo, parochial vicar, it will be the first time that St. Michael Parish will host a Mass in Tagalog. A planning committee has been preparing for the Mass and several priests have been invited to concelebrate. The entire Mass will be said in Tagalog except for the homily. The date of the Mass was scheduled to coincide near the feast of St. Lorenzo Ruiz of Manila, the first Filipino saint.
Light refreshments will follow in the lower church.
