Vigil for Peace in Syria and the Middle East

Parishes in the diocese have made the following announcements for Sept. 7…

Mercer County
St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton – Mass, 4 p.m., celebrated by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., as part of the Vigil for Peace in Syria and the Middle East called for by Pope Francis.  Bishop O'Connell has encouraged Catholics throughout the diocese to participate in a day of prayer and fasting in support of the Holy Father's request. For information, call 609-396-8447.  Located at 151 N. Warren Street.

St. Ann, Lawrenceville – Interfaith Hour of Prayer and Song for Peace in Syria, 7 p.m. The hour will consist of music, song, quiet time, and prayer in response to Pope Francis’ call for a universal day of fasting and prayer for peace.  The hour is an attempt to bring together Christians, followers of other religions and all people of good will to participate in whatever way they can in this initiative.  All are welcome.  For information, contact the parish at 609-882-6491.

St. Hedwig, Trenton – Following the 5 p.m. Mass they will have Exposition of Blessed Sacrament, recitation of the Rosary, Invocation and Blessing.

Burlington County
St. Charles Borromeo, Cinnaminson – Mass for Peace, 9 a.m., Rosary in the chapel, noon and 3 p.m.  For information, call 856-829-3322. Located at 2226 Riverton Road.

Saints Francis and Clare, Florence Township – Mass, 9 a.m., Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Ave., Roebling, We will join Catholics around the world in a humble plea for God’s intervention.  We will reflect on God’s will for humanity and offer moral and spiritual support to our brothers and sisters affected by violence and war.  For information, call 609-499-0161.

St. Mary of the Lakes, Medford – Join us at 4:45PM in the church as we answer Pope Francis’ call to fast and pray for peace in Syria, the Middle East and the world, especially between 1 – 5 p.m. (7PM-11PM in Rome). We will pray the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.  For information, call 609-654-8208.  Located at 40 Jackson Road.

St. Joan of Arc, Marlton – Holy Hour of Peace, 1 p.m. For information, call 856-983-0077.  Located at 100 Willow Bend Road.

Monmouth County
St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold – Mass 9 a.m. (taken from the collection of Masses for the Blessing Virgin Mary, Mary, Queen of Peace, Eucharistic prayers II for Reconciliation will be used), Rosary of Peace, 9:30 a.m., Mass, 4:30 p.m. (Mass will end with Eucharistic Adoration and special prayers for peace).  For information, call 732-462-7429.  Located at 61 Georgia Road.
