Venerable Sheen presentations scheduled for May 6

A presentation on “Venerable Fulton Sheen – Yesterday, Today &Tomorrow” will be held May 6 at 7 p.m. in St. Mary Parish Center, Manahawkin.

Speakers for the evening include Father Andrew Apostoli, vice postulator for the Cause for Canonization of Fulton J. Sheen, who will speak about the cause and also his experiences with Archbishop Sheen. Also speaking will be Father Charles P. Connor, author of The Spiritual Legacy of Fulton J. Sheen, who will speak on what Archbishop Sheen has meant to the Catholic Church and faith.

Both Father Apostoli and Father Connor have been frequent guests and speakers on Eternal Word Television Network

Also, on hand for the evening will be local artist, Eileen Garvin who will present copies of her painting, “A Saintly Embrace,” which depicts the meeting of the now St. John Paul II and Archbishop Sheen. Garvin will give the copies to Father Apostoli who will then present them to Cardinal Timothy Dolan, archbishop of New York, and Bshop Daniel Jenky of Peoria, Ill.

There is no admission fee for the May 6 presentation but donations to the Sheen Foundation would be appreciated. More information may be obtained on Facebook@FultonSheen “Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow” event page.
