Ursula 'RC' Brinkerhoff, sister of Msgr. Gervasio

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 5 in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Mercerville, for Ursula “RC” Gervasio Brinkerhoff of Hamilton who died Feb. 1 in York, Pa., at age 73. She was the sister of Msgr. Thomas N. Gervasio, pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, diocesan vicar general and moderator of the curia.

A lifelong resident and member of Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, she was employed by St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton, and Rick’s Bus Service as a bus attendant.

In 2009-2010, she received the Civilian Commendation Award for a display of unusual courage or actions in assisting police in an emergency when she safely and successfully evacuated a bus full of handicapped children just as it caught fire and burned. She also received the Lawrence Township Citizen of the Year Award.

In addition to Msgr. Gervasio, she is survived by her daughter; two other brothers and their wives; eight sisters and two brothers-in-law; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton.
