Following is a listing of retreats and programs planned in and around the Diocese

Spirituali-Tea, men’s group planned at Upper Room

The Upper Room Diocesan Spiritual Center, Neptune, located at 3455 W. Bangs Ave., Bldg. 2 will hold several retreats and/or programs.

“Spirituali-Tea” will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. June 12. The retreat will include prayer and a brief spiritual reflection followed by a traditional afternoon tea with assorted delectables. Participants can bring their favorite tea cup. The cost is $25-$50.

A “Men’s Spirituality Group” will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. June 13. The retreat will include supportive discussion on all things spiritual. Presenter will be Jack Hudak, certified life empowerment coach. The cost is $10.

Michelle P. Carlino, certified in Christian, Hatha, and Kripalo yoga instruction will lead gentle chair yoga from 7 to 9:30 p.m. June 21 and 28. The program will include gentle poses done in a chair. Soft breath work and breath prayer will be included to increase our awareness of the presence of God within our bodies. A restorative relaxation and meditation will be integrated at the end of each class. Participants can attend one or both classes. The cost for one class is $20-$25; for both $35-$50. Registration is due with a $15 deposit or full payment by June 6.

We Can Pray All the Time!!! Breath Prayer and Mindfulness will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. July 10. Learn and experience seven-syllable breath prayers and various breathing exercises for fostering mindfulness and enhancing total well-being of body, mind and spirit. A handout for breathing exercises and breath prayers will be given to participants. Presenter will be Mercy Sister Maureen Conroy, co-director of the Upper Room. The cost is $15-$50 due by July 5.

Lumen Center offers life and teachings of spiritual teacher

Lumen Center, Caldwell, will hold “Grateful to the Life and Teachings of Brother David Steindl-Rast” in the Caldwell Dominican Motherhouse, 1 Ryerson Ave.  Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the program from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. June 12. The cost is $25-$35.

Catholic Women of Zion to hold ‘A Woman’s Heart’ program

Catholic Women of Zion Chapter 1, Lakewood, will hold a retreat from 8 a.m. to noon June 9 in Holy Family Church, 1139 East County Line Road.  The retreat will consist of Mass, prayer, music, speaker, sharing, networking and prayers for healing. Ana Maria, a parishioner of St. Luke Parish, Toms River, who has spoken throughout New Jersey at retreats and various religious events, will be the guest speaker. She will share “A Woman’s Heart-the Love of a Good Woman.” Mass celebrant will be Father Michael Sullivan, pastor of St. Mary of the Lake Parish, Lakewood.
