St. Mary Parish, Colts Neck, will offer the following lectures in June.
“The Church: Parish Life – Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow,” will be presented by Father Jeffrey Lee, pastor, June 8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the chapel. Father Lee will reflect on what it means to be Church and how the understanding of Church shapes the views for parish life.
“Marriage in the Church – A History,” will be presented by Michele McCue, a member of the parish staff, June 17 from 7:30-9 p.m. in the chapel. The session will examine how the Church has viewed marriage throughout the ages culminating with current Church teachings on marriage in light of the Second Vatican Council.
Notwithstanding some of the more controversial issues surrounding contemporary marriage, the lecture will focus on how the Sacrament remains a source of grace for those who are committed to its conventional nature.
To register for the lectures, participants are asked to use the Project CARE form in the parish office or visit the parish website at www.stmaryscoltsneck.org.
