Chilly temperatures didn’t deter hundreds of people from wanting to take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean as part of the 2013 Ancient Order of Hibernians Polar Bear Plunge for Catholic Education Jan. 13 at the Municipal Beach in Sea Bright. Started in 2006 by Jim Shaw of the Middletown AOH, the plunge has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Catholic schools in the area, which receive 100 percent of the proceeds from the event.
