Taking a Walk for Education
July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
Families and students from St. Rose Grammar School, Belmar, raised $42,000 during the Catholic school’s first annual Community Walk for Education May 17. The fundraiser, benefitting St. Rose’s St. Thomas More tuition assistance program, saw about 150 young and old walkers traversing the nearly two miles from the school to the Belmar Fishing Club at the boardwalk and back. Each class competed to raise the most money to win a pizza party, and local vendors contributed snacks and water to all walkers. Photo courtesy of St. Rose Grammar School
