Super Plunge XII set for Feb. 7

The 12th annual Super “Plunge” Sunday is scheduled for Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m.

Super Plunge XII, a fundraiser organized by St. Francis Community Center, Brant Beach, and the swim teams of Southern Regional High School, will take place at the 48th Street Beach in the Brant Beach section of Long Beach Township.

The “Plunge” has become a popular community favorite during the winter months and has grown in participation each year.

Pre-registration is required and will take place in St. Francis Community Center Feb. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration forms can be obtained in advance at the front desk or on the website, stfranciscetnerlbit.org. Mail registration forms should be sent to St. Francis Community Center, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Township, N.J. 08008-3926. Fee is $30 per person on or before Feb. 6 and $35 the day of the Super Plunge. Participants are encouraged to seek sponsor donations in addition to their registration fee.

All registered participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and t-shirts will be available to spectators for purchase Feb. 7 after the plunge. Wristbands will be issued to all participants and must be worn at the time of the plunge. Items plungers should bring include bathing suit, towels, blankets and a change of clothes. A post-plunge gathering with refreshments will follow in the community center. Participants may find out about purchasing raffle ticket at the community center or online.
