Summer activities to open at St. Francis Community Center

St. Francis Community Center, Brant Beach, will hold several summer programs and activities for all ages in its center at 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Township.

The programs in the St. Francis Aquatic Center include all levels of swimming instruction – water tots, four-year-old beginner swim, beginner level one, beginner level two, intermediate and advanced; private and semiprivate swim lessons; competitive swim; youth swim team; introduction to surfing; introduction to stand-up paddling; deep water aerobics; aquatic aerobics; arthritis water exercise; splash dance class; lifeguard training; CPR/AED training for professional lifeguard rescuer, and a CPR and first aid challenge.

The recreation programs include boating safety course (NJ certified); basketball – tot and tyke, basketball clinic, recreational-intramural league, and private basketball lessons; lacrosse for beginners; baseball – baseball 101, Be Your Best baseball clinic and private baseball lessons; soccer clinic; gymnastics – tyke clinic for four-and five-year- olds and a clinic for ages six and up; ultimate recreation camp games; fitness – gentle yoga and all level yoga, all-in-one fitness class and personal training; Scholastic Aptitude Test math review; sixth grade math review and algebra review.

Registration begins June 1 at 9 a.m. and the programs are scheduled to start as early as June 10.  Brochures can be found at the community center, Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce located in Ship Bottom, local libraries and online at www.stfranciscenterlbi.org.

An affordable yearly membership entitles persons to lower rates for many activities and free admission to “open gym.”  Pool memberships are also available for three months, six months or yearly for individual or families.
