Time is almost up to submit entries for the 2018 Catholic Schools Week project.

Submissions are due Jan. 19, built on the theme “Why I Love My Catholic School,” sponsored by the New Jersey Network of Catholic School Families. The Archdiocese of Newark, and the Dioceses of Trenton, Camden, Metuchen and Paterson are all invited to participate.

Students in grades six through eight are asked to create a poster which identifies the many ways their school helps them to learn, serve, lead and succeed. Posters should be made on any color poster board no larger than 22 by 28 inches, and three-dimensional poster depth should not exceed 5 inches; photos, colored pencils, paints, chalk, markers, crayons and pastels are all permissible media.

Students in ninth through 12th grades should submit a video project of up to 30 seconds representing the same topic.

Three sixth- through eighth- and two ninth- through 12th-grade students will be chosen to represent the Diocese of Trenton at a luncheon reception at the State House, Trenton, along with student representatives  from the other dioceses during Catholic Schools Week on either Jan. 29 or Feb. 1, accompanied by their parents and school principal or designated representative. Attendees will get a tour of the State House.

No more than three posters per elementary and two videos per high school should be mailed to: Attn: Frances Koukotas, Diocese of Trenton, 701 Lawrenceville Road, Trenton, NJ 08638. Selections will be made from both categories by the New Jersey Network of Catholic School Families and displayed at the State House throughout Catholic Schools Week.

The reception date of either Jan. 29 or Feb. 1 will be determined by the state legislative calendar. For more information, contact Frances Koukotas at 609-406-7148.
