St. Ann Parish to celebrate feast of Blessed John XXIII

St. Ann Parish, Lawrenceville, will celebrate the feast of Blessed (soon to be saint) John XXIII, Oct. 11 with an evening of prayer, reflection and learning at 7:30 p.m. in the Faith Development Center at 1253 Lawrenceville Road.

The gathering will provide an opportunity for participants to share Good Pope John stories, present a few lessons from the life of Angelo Roncalli and how they can be helpful to our lives today, and share in prayer for the Church.

Pope Francis announced that Pope John XXIII will be canonized in the spring of 2014. Although the feasts of most saints fall on the anniversary of their death, Pope John Paul II assigned the date of Oct. 11 as the feast day of Blessed John XXIII. This date corresponds to the opening date of the second Vatican Council in 1962. It was Blessed John XXIII who called the Vatican Council.

All are welcome.  Admission is free.  For information, call the parish office at 609-882-6491.
