St. Ann Novena in Lawrenceville

St. Ann Parish, Lawrenceville, will hold its annual St. Ann Novena July 18 to 26 in the church at 1253 Lawrence Road.

Led by Father James Di Luzio, a Paulist priest, singer, actor and playwright, the St.

Ann Novena will include daily Mass and homily at 9 a.m. and Novena Service and prayer each evening at 7:30 p.m.

A special candlelight procession will be held on the Feast of St. Ann, July 26, following the 7:30 p.m. Feast Day Mass.

Born in Nyack, N.Y., Father DiLuzio was ordained a priest May 8, 1993 in the Church of the Good Shepherd, N.Y., by Bishop Basil Meeking of Christchurch, New Zealand.

Before his ordination, he earned a bachelor of arts degree in English and education from Montclair State University, Upper Montclair; a master of arts degree in drama from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and worked for several years as a teacher, actor and director. As a Paulist priest, he completed a master of divinity degree from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.

Prior to his full-time mission work, Father DiLuzio served as an associate pastor in St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Los Angeles, and as a campus minister in St.

Lawrence Parish and Newman Center, Minneapolis.

Father DiLuzio currently offers parish retreats, lectures and missions and since 2002, has been presenting in parishes his dramatic proclamation of the Gospel of Luke entitled, “Luke Live” (www.LukeLive.com).

The annual St. Ann Novena is a parish tradition honoring its patron St. Ann, all are invited to attend.
