Spirituality Day planned for diocesan catechists
July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
Catechists in parishes of the Diocese of Trenton are invited to take part in a new diocesan event: Catechist Spirituality Day, set for Aug. 24 in St. Martha Parish, Point Pleasant.
Sponsored by the diocesan Department of Catechesis, the morning retreat will begin with check-in at 8:30 a.m. Mass will be at 9 a.m. in St. Martha Church, followed by brunch/refreshments, presentation and small group discussions, as well as time for personal prayer. The retreat ends at noon.
Msgr. Thomas Gervasio, diocesan vicar general and moderator of the curia, will be the featured speaker for the morning’s theme, “Finding Joy in the Journey.”
The spirituality day was added to the diocesan calendar this year as a means of continuing to serve spiritually the catechists of the Diocese. Those who serve in religious education programs, Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults teams and youth ministry are invited to attend. The goal of the day is to bring catechists together from across the Diocese for reflection, and to offer tools to continue their spiritual journeys as catechists.
Cost to attend the event is $10. Registration is available online at DioceseofTrenton.org/catechesis-events.
St. Martha Church is located at 3800 Herbertsville Rd., Point Pleasant. For more information, contact Doreen Griffin-Galway, 609-403-7144, or email [email protected].
