The families of St. James School, Red Bank, donated approximately 125 boxes containing Christmas gifts for disadvantaged children around the globe as part of the international Operation Christmas Child, which is a program run by Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian relief organization founded in 1993. The world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world. Since its inception, more 100 million gift- filled shoe boxes have been delivered to children in over 130 countries around the world. Assembling the Christmas boxes was an effective way for the students to learn how a small act of kindness can have a lasting impact in the life of a less fortunate child.
