Sister of St. Francis Edward Paul Colliton, 98, founding principal of Corpus Christi

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 25 in Assisi House, Aston, Pa. for Franciscan Sister Edward Paul Colliton, who died May 19 at age 98.
A professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 76 years, Sister Edward Paul (formerly known as Sister Magdalena Bernice) was born in Philadelphia. Prior to her entrance into the Franciscan community, she worked as a stenographer for Charles C. Parks.
Sister Edward Paul entered the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia in 1931 and professed her first vows in 1934. She earned a bachelor science degree from Mount St. Mary University, Emmitsburg, Md., and a master of arts degree in education from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.
Sister Edward Paul ministered in the Archdiocese of Washington for 26 years, in the Archdiocese of Baltimore for 21 years, for 10 years in the Diocese of Charleston, S.C., for six years in the Diocese of Trenton and in the Diocese of Wilmington, Del. for six years.
In the Trenton Diocese, she was the founding principal of Corpus Christi School, Willingboro, in 1959 and served there until 1965.
Sister Edward Paul is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and her Franciscan community.
Burial was in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Aston, Pa.
