Sister Marie LaSalle Mullen, was Trenton native, former Chancery staff member

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 18 in McAuley Hall Health Care Center, Watchung, for Mercy Sister Marie LaSalle, who died Dec. 15. She was 88.

Sister Marie LaSalle, the former Katherine Mullen, was born in Trenton and attended St. Mary Grammar School and Cathedral High School, both in Trenton. After graduation, she worked in the Diocese of Trenton Chancery Office for the Society of the Propagation of the Faith and then in the business office of Cathedral Grammar and High School. She entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1950 and later received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Georgian Court College, Lakewood.

Sister Marie LaSalle taught in Mount St. Mary Academy, Watchung, and St. Mary High School, Perth Amboy, where she also served as assistant principal. In 1970 she returned to Mount St. Mary where she joined the staff in the finance office for six years.

Her last assignment was working in the finance office at McAuley Hall Health Care Center.

Daughter of the late Mary and Carl Mullen and sister of Carl Joseph Mullen, all of whom resided in Trenton, Sister Marie LaSalle is survived by her niece, Kim Keosian (David), her grandnephew, Christopher Persian of Salisbury, Md., sister-in-law, Doris Terrett, and many Sisters of Mercy in the Mid-Atlantic Community.

Burial was in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
