Sister Kathleen Patricia McDonagh served 13 years in Trenton Diocese

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 8 in Assisi House, Aston, Pa., for Franciscan Sister Kathleen Patricia McDonagh, who died April 3 at age 79.
Born in County Galway, Ireland, Sister Kathleen entered the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia in 1951 and professed her first vows in 1954. Her sister, Sister Mary Philomena McDonagh, also entered the congregation and is also deceased.
Sister Kathleen ministered in domestic work, childcare, eldercare and parish ministry including 13 years in the Trenton Diocese. She worked in St. Rose of Lima Convent, Freehold, from 1954-1955, and St. Joseph Convent, Raritan, (now part of the Metuchen Diocese) from 1955-1957. From 1963-1969 and from 1970-1973, she worked in childcare in St. Michael Orphanage, Hopewell. She also cared for the elderly in Morris Hall, Lawrenceville, from 1969-1970.
Her other service included 30 years in the Diocese of Harrisburg as well as ministering in the Archdiocese of Boston and the Diocese of Fall River, Mass.
Burial was in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Aston.
Donations in her name can be made to the Sisters of St. Francis Foundation, 609 S. Convent Rd., Aston, Pa. 19014.
