A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 27 in Our Lady of Peace Residence, Scranton, Pa., for Immaculate Heart of Mary Sister Carolyn Mullen who died Sept. 22. She was 75.

Born in 1935 in Archbald, Pa., Sister Carolyn entered the IHM congregation Sept. 8, 1952; made her temporary profession of vows Aug. 3, 1955, and her final profession of vows Aug. 3, 1958.

Sister Carolyn received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and a master of science degree in counselor education from Marywood College, Scranton, Pa.

Sister Carolyn taught in a number of schools in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut and New York. As a guidance counselor, she served in schools in Pennsylvania, New York, and from 1994 to 2010 in Holy Cross High School, Delran.

Sister Carolyn is survived by a brother and many nieces and nephews. Burial was in St. Catherine Cemetery, Moscow, Pa.
