Simbang Gabi planned in Monmouth parishes

The Filipino-American Community of Monmouth County is extending an open invitation for Catholic faithful to join them in a traditional Simbang Gabi – nine Masses in preparation for the birth of Jesus at parishes throughout Monmouth County.

Except for the ninth night, all Masses begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. beginning with St. James Parish, Red Bank, Dec. 12, they are as follows: Holy Family Parish, Union Beach, Dec. 13; St. Ann Parish, Keansburg, Dec. 14; St. Dorothea Parish, Eatontown, Dec. 15.

On Dec. 16, the Simbang Gabi moves to St. Rose of Lima Parish, Freehold and then to St. Catherine Parish, Farmingdale on Dec. 17. Wednesday, Dec. 18, the Mass will be held in St. Veronica Parish, Howell and on Dec. 19 at St. Leo the Great Parish, Lincroft.

On Dec. 20 – the ninth night – recitation of the Rosary will take place at 6:30 p.m. with Mass at 7 p.m., followed by fellowship and food in the Holy Innocents Social Hall. The reception will be catered but pot luck favorite food and desserts are welcome.
