The student choir in Incarnation-St. James School, Ewing, continues to raise their voices, always ready to lead their peers and teachers in song.

Under the direction of Beth Meagher, who is in her 27th year of teaching at the school, the 31-member choir is comprised of students ranging in grades three to eight.

Meagher, who holds a master’s degree in music from The College of New Jersey, Ewing, noted the choir rehearses each week, and events the choir sings for include the school Masses that are celebrated each Friday and the Catholic Schools’ Week Mass. The choir enjoys sharing its talents at Christmas time when the school hosts its annual Christmas show and spring concert.

Outside of school, Meagher was proud to note that the choir has performed at local sporting events such as the Trenton Thunder and Trenton Titans/NJ Devils and Philadelphia Phantoms games. Students have also entertained patients in St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center and residents of Morris Hall, both in Lawrenceville.

Usually  the choir sings a capella, but occasionally accompaniment will be provided by rhythm instrumentalists or student-flutists and guitarists.
