A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Oct. 8 in St. Benedict Parish, Holmdel, for Sarah M. Sartiano, who served for more than 41 years in St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel. Mrs. Sartiano passed away Oct. 4, at the age of 86.

Born Sarah M. DiMarco on Aug. 10, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she later moved to Hazlet, where she lived ever since. She was an active parishioner in St. Benedict Parish, Holmdel, and spent more than 41 years working in St. John Vianney High School. She began her tenure there as the school librarian, later serving as the media specialist assistant until her retirement.

Mrs. Sartiano was predeceased by her husband, Frank P. Sartiano; her parents, Nicola and Mary Concetta (Carfagno) DiMarco; her sister, Lydia Ferraioli, and her brother-in-law, Henry Ferraioli. She is survived by her sons, Francis (Eileen), Madison, Conn., and Nicholas (Lena), Old Bridge; her siblings, Philip DiMarco, Smithtown, N.Y.; and Grace Davide; and her two grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be Oct. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m., and Oct. 8 from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. in Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, at 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet. Entombment will follow at 11:45 a.m. in Fair View Cemetery Mausoleum, 456 Highway 35, Middletown/Red Bank.
