Retreat Day for Laity slated for March 2 in Bayville

St. Barnabas Parish, Bayville, will host a retreat day for laity entitled “Deeper Spirituality: Acceptance, Humility and Loving in Troubling Times” March 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parish’s Rucki Hall at 33 Woodland Road, Bayville.
Retreat leader, Msgr. Eugene Rebeck, a retired priest of the Diocese, will lead a program on finding and accepting the will of God in the midst of the storm and the place humility and love have in going forward.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 9 a.m. The program will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be followed by an optional lunch.
Msgr. Rebeck, a native of Perth Amboy, was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop George W. Ahr in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton, May 22, 1965. He has served as parochial vicar in St. Ann Parish, Keansburg, and Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Mercerville. He exercised his ministry as pastor in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Maple Shade, from 1977 to 1985, and in St. Catharine Parish, Holmdel, from 1985 until his June, 2013, retirement. Msgr. Rebeck resides on Long Beach Island and serves as weekend assistant in St. James Parish, Red Bank. He also often assists at Red Bank Catholic High School with the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Cost for the day is $20 which includes lunch. To register, RSVP before Feb. 25. Mail a check made payable to St. Barnabas to the attention of Terry Damiano to St. Barnabas Parish, 33 Woodland Road, P.O. Box 1, Bayville, N.J. 08721. Include name, home address, ministry, phone, email and whether you plan to stay for lunch.
