Respect Life Month observances reinforce 'Masterpiece' theme

The faithful of the Trenton Diocese observed Respect Life Month with a variety of events all reflecting upon the theme “Each of Us is a Masterpiece of God’s Creation,” echoing the declaration by Pope Francis in his 2013 Day for Life greeting.
Scores of faithful lined the roads of Monmouth and Ocean Counties in Life Chains Oct. 5. The presence of respect life committees and parishioners advocating an end to abortion and the promotion of dignity of human life from conception to natural death prompted honking horns and gestures of support from passing motorists.
St. Veronica Parish, Howell, sponsored a Life Chain in front of their rectory on Route 9, while others stood witness along Route 37 in Toms River.
Other parishes around the Diocese commemorated Respect Life Month with Holy Hours, Eucharistic Adoration, recitation of the Rosary, Masses and special collections.
