RCIA workshop on the Catechumenate Period set for Feb. 9

A workshop on “The Catechumenate Period,” which is a step in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults process, will be offered Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, 149 N. Warren Street, Trenton.
Sponsored by the diocesan Department of Catechesis, the workshop is open to all involved in the RCIA process including RCIA team, coordinators, members and catechists and will give a step-by-step plan of how to guide catechumens through this part of their faith journey and the liturgical rites connected with the process.
The workshop, to be presented in Spanish and translated into English, will be facilitated by Josue Arriola, director of the diocesan Department of Evangelization and Family Life. Arriola holds a master of arts degree in theology from Augustine Institute, Denver, Col., and a bachelor of arts degree with a concentration in humanities from Thomas Edison State College, Trenton. He has pursued studies in pastoral ministry in Georgian Court University, Lakewood, and pastoral Hispanic leadership at The Catholic University of America, Washington. Prior to his work with the Diocese, Arriola served as associate director of the Office of Evangelization in the Metuchen Diocese.
