RCIA team training scheduled for Sept. 19

The diocesan Department of Evangelization and Catechesis will hold a Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Team Training Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the church hall of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 East State St., Ext., Hamilton.

Open to RCIA directors and team members, the workshop topic will be “Meeting, Greeting and Forming: The Precatechumenate and Catehumenate Periods.”

Presenter will be Jennifer Schlameuss-Perry, an employee of parishes within the Diocese of Trenton for 16 years. Her primary duties have included serving as director of the RCIA, adult faith formation and enrichment, managing social media, “Protecting God’s Children” coordinator, working with liturgy and assisting volunteers in ministry. Schlameuss-Perry holds a bachelor of arts degree  in religious studies and a master of arts degree in pastoral ministry.

The team training will examine the first two periods in the RCIA process and address various questions that are raised among RCIA team members.

Participants should bring a brown bag lunch as well as their copy of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Study Edition and the Practical Guide.
