Presentation on Trinity slated for Princeton parish
July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
St. Paul Parish, Princeton, will host author and speaker Franciscan Father Richard Rohr for a talk on the Trinity May 24 at 7 p.m.
Titled “The Divine Dance: The Trinity and Your Transformation,” Father Rohr’s presentation is based on his most recently published book of the same title with Mike Morrell. The talk will focus on a three-dimensional view of the Trinity, inviting participants to rediscover the mystery of the triune God, no matter where they are in their faith journey.
Father Rohr is a globally recognized ecumenical teacher who focuses on Christian mysticism. A Franciscan priest of the New Mexico Province and founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Father Rohr’s teaching, as per the CAC website, “is grounded in the Franciscan alternative orthodoxy – practices of contemplation and self-emptying, expressing itself in radical compassion, particularly for the socially marginalized.”
Father Rohr is academic dean of the Living School for Action and Contemplation, whose mission is “to produce compassionate and powerfully learned individuals who will work for positive change in the world based on awareness of our common union with God and all beings,” the website continues.
In addition to “The Divine Dance,” Father Richard is the author of numerous books, including “Everything Belongs,” “Adam’s Return,” “The Naked Now,” “Breathing Under Water,” “Falling Upward,” “Immortal Diamond,” and “Eager to Love: The Alternative Way of Francis of Assisi.”
Admission to the talk is free. An opportunity for book signing and refreshments will follow. St. Paul Church is located at 214 Nassau St., Princeton.
