Praying for Families

The second of four Holy Hours scheduled in parishes around the Diocese was held June 25 in St. John Neumann Parish, Mount Laurel. The Holy Hours are hosted by the diocesan Department of Youth, Marriage and Family Life and are opportunities where parishioners can pray for the intentions for families.

The Holy Hours, which are also being held in anticipation of the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia in September, include prayers and readings, silence, petitions and music. Presiding over the June 25 Holy Hour was Father Phillip C. Pfleger, administrator of St. John Neumann Parish and episcopal vicar of Burlington County.
The series of Holy Hours began in February in St. Anthony Church, a worship site of Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, Hamilton. Additional Holy Hours will be held July 23, St. Joseph Parish, Toms River, Ocean County, and Sept. 3, Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Long Branch, a worship site of Christ the King Parish, Long Branch.
