Pollinating the Ecosystem
July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
Students in the first and fourth grades in St. Ann School, Lawrenceville, are benefiting from the generous grant given by the ExxonMobil Education Alliance. The award, worth $500, was made possible by Lehigh Gas Corporation and ExxonMobil. Teachers, Ann Albe and Lauren Foreman, are working together to teach the students about the importance of pollinators in the ecosystem and plant growth. The money was used to buy seed starting kits, seeds that attract bees, and books about plants and pollinators. The classes came together to plant the seeds and before spring break they will come together once again to make recyclable plant pots from newspaper to take home their plants. A local beekeeper will, also, be a guest speaker to educate the students on the importance of bees in the world. Photo courtesy of St. Ann School
