The following events have been scheduled in observance of the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima, when the Blessed Mother appeared to the three children in the Portuguese village of Fatima.

Fatima Rosary, movie night planned in Hamilton

Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish Rosary-Altar Society, Hamilton, invites all to its Fatima Rosary Night at 7 p.m. Aug. 10, Sept. 14 and Oct. 12 in Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 3816 E. State St.

“Movies at the Parish” will take place Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. with the showing of “Apparitions at Fatima” (90 min.), in St. Anthony’s church hall, 626 S. Olden Ave. Light refreshments will be available.

For information, call the parish at 609-587-4372.

Prayer service, Rosary to honor Our Lady in Brick

Blessed Mary urged the children to “Pray the Rosary every day, in order to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war [World War I].” She instructed the children to come to the same place at the same time every 13th day of the month for the next five months.

As such, Epiphany Parish, Brick, in May began honoring the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima with the first Apparition, followed by the second and third. The fourth will be celebrated at noon Aug. 19 and the fifth at noon Sept. 13 with a prayer service and Rosary in the church parking lot at 615 Thiele Road.

Each year, America Needs Fatima holds the Public Square Rosary Crusade, with thousands of Rosary rallies in cities all across the country. These Public Square Rosary Rallies take place on the closest Saturday to October 13, feast of the last apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. Epiphany will take part in the crusade Oct. 14 at noon in the church parking lot.

For information, call 732-458-0220.

Hamilton Square parish to offer spiritual exercise

Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary consists in surrendering oneself completely to Mary and to Jesus through her. St. Gregory the Great Parish, Hamilton Square, will offer this powerful spiritual exercise that helps one to grow in love for Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Father Michael McClane, pastor of the parish, invites all to journey with him through a period of prayerful preparation leading up to the act of total consecration Oct. 7, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, at the 8:30 a.m. Mass in the church at 4620 Nottingham Way.

An introductory meeting will be held Sept. 3 at 7:15 p.m. in the Chapel to view the first video “Renunciation of the Spirit of the World” and to hear more information about this devotion. Participants will have the opportunity to view four video teachings in all. In the video presentations, Father Hugh Gillespie of the St. Montfort Missionaries guides the viewer through the key steps of the preparation. Father McClane will offer advice and commentary as well. Video two, “Knowledge of Self,” Sept. 17; video three, “Knowledge of Mary,” Sept. 24 and video four, “Knowledge of Jesus,” Oct. 1, all at 7:15 p.m.

Registration is due by Aug. 18 at noon. To register or for more information contact Pat Colamarino at [email protected] or 609-587-4877 x 270 .
