Parishes plan Sept. 11 anniversary observances

The following parishes have announced their plans to observe the 17th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

In St. David the King Parish, West Windsor, Father Timothy Capewell, said that following the parish’s regularly scheduled 8:30 a.m. Mass, there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until 8 p.m.

“All are encouraged to pay a visit during the day,” he said, adding that visitors are welcome to pray in church or before the parish’s 9-11 memorial, which was created in memory of three parishioners who lost their lives in the attacks.

St. David the King Parish is located at 1 New Village Road, Princeton Junction.

In St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, Medford, Father Daniel Swift, pastor, noted that the names of persons who died in the attacks who were related to parishioners “and those who were heroes” will be read at all Masses Sept. 8-9.

St. Mary of the Lakes Church is located at 40 Jackson Road, Medford.

The music ministries from parishes that comprise Cohort 1 – Corpus Christi, Willingboro, Resurrection, Delran, and Jesus the Good Shepherd, Riverside, will honor the victims, their families and first responders during a Taize prayer service to be held at 7 p.m. in Corpus Christi Church, located at 11 South Sunset Road, Willingboro. Fellowship and refreshments will follow in Bogdan Hall.
