Parishes hold services to pray for the unborn

The following parishes have announced services and/or events to commemorate the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade.

 Burlington County

To pray for the March for Life in Washington, DC, St. Joan of Arc Parish, Marlton, will hold Eucharistic Adoration ending with Benediction Jan. 22 from 2 to 7 p.m. in the church at 100 Willow Bend Road.  The Rosary will be prayed at 2 p.m. and Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 p.m.

Prayers will be for all of the unborn babies, for mothers who are thinking of having an abortion that they give their baby life or give the baby for adoption and for all the Abortion Mill workers who continue to take the lives of babies.  Individuals will be signed up for an hour that will be committed to praying in the church during this day.

The Life Justice Ministry will have pamphlets and literature regarding its ministry and other handouts on what its ministry is involved in for Life and Justice Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 in the school cafeteria at 101 Willow Bend Road.  Refreshments and snacks will be at each table.

A Mass will be held Feb. 3 for those who have lost a child at any age.  A blessing will given to each individual that has lost a baby or child. During the Mass music is played to offer hope and love for those who are suffering with this loss.  A holy card is given as a remembrance of the Mass.  Following Mass refreshments are offered along with sharing, listening and help to heal the pain and suffering endured by those who have experienced the loss of a child.

Mercer County

An evening of prayer is planned in St. Raphael-Holy Angels, Hamilton, Jan. 22 beginning with Mass at 7 p.m. in the church at 3500 South Broad Street.  The evening will include Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, recitation of the Rosary, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction.  Prayers for the protection and respect of all human life from the moment of conception to natural death will be prayed.  Following Benediction light refreshments will be available in the Narthex.  For information, call 609-585-7049.

St. Joseph, Trenton, will hold Rosary and Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament on Jan. 21 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.   Mass will be held Jan. 22 at 7 p.m., Holy Hour until 9 p.m.  in the church at 540 N. Olden Avenue.  For information, call 609-394-5757.

Ocean County

A prayer service will be held in St. Pius X, Forked River, Jan. 22 after the 8 a.m. Mass to pray for the overturning of Roe vs. Wade and to pray for the respect of all life from conception until natural death.  Prayers will be said in support for all those who are marching in solidarity in Washington. A Rosary will be said as well as petitions for life.  The prayer service will take place in the chapel at 300 Lacey Road.  For information, call 609-693-5107.

St. Peter, Point Pleasant Beach, will host a bus to Washington departing from the church at 7 a.m.  Prior to departure a Mass at 6:30 a.m. in the church at 406 Forman Avenue will be held in prayer and support of the March.  An additional Mass will be held at 8:30 a.m.  For information, call 732-892-0049.
