Parish to host one-day healing conference
July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
St. John Neumann Parish, Mount Laurel, will host a one day healing conference themed “Healing Your Family Tree and Divine Mercy” Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the church at 560 Walton Avenue.
During the event participants will learn how the sins of our ancestors allow curses and the repetition of unhealthy familiar traits to persist in our present families and future generations. Participants will pray for loved ones living and deceased and prepare a genogram that will assist in praying more specifically for their families. Mass for generational healing will be offered for all living and deceased loved ones. Genograms will be placed on the altar. A prayer wall will be constructed with pictures of deceased family members and friends will be placed near the altar during the Eucharist being offered for them.
Guest speakers will be Father Bill Halbing, priest of the Archdiocese of Newark, a biblical scholar well known for his rare teachings of in-depth line-by-line Bible studies, taking us into the deepest riches of the Sacred Scripture. Father Bill McCarthy, retreat master, is a priest ordained in Rome who has served in parishes in the Archdiocese of Hartford and as a retreat director in the Diocese of Norwich. He has been giving parish missions for more than 30 years and has spoken at over 600 parishes in the U.S. and Canada.
On-going Confessions will be offered throughout the day along with continuous Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
The cost is $15 per person and includes a continental breakfast. Bring a bag lunch. Walk-in registration is $20. Checks can be made payable to St. John Neumann Church and mailed to St. John Neumann Church, c/o Maria Arvonio, 1404 Augusta Circle, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054. Registration forms can be picked up in the church foyer.
