St. Ann Parish, Lawrenceville, will hold an Introduction to Centering Prayer, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 17.
Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer that prepares persons to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, in which they experience God’s presence. This method of prayer is both about developing a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship.
Presenters will be Theresa Saulnier and Patty Creech of Contemplative Outreach of New Jersey. Saulnier has been praying Centering Prayer for more than 30 years and Creech for 20 years. Contemplative Outreach is part of a worldwide network, Roman Catholic in origin and ecumenical in scope.
The day opens with registration and light refreshments at 8:30 a.m. with the program starting at 9 a.m.. Pre-registration is suggested and persons can contact Creech at [email protected] or 908-500-7089 or Mary Malley at [email protected] or 609-896-8193.
Following the March 17 introductory session, six sessions will be made available in which participants can learn more about Centering Prayer as a group.
