Parish plans a Lenten mission

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Whiting, will hold a parish Lenten mission March 14 to 16 at 30 Schoolhouse Road. The mission will be conducted by Franciscan Father Mariusz Koch and the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.  The theme “Mission of Mercy” is consistent with the Year of Mercy inaugurated by Pope Francis to welcome all who seek the mercy of God during this special year, and as a preparation for Holy Week and Easter.

The mission conferences March 14 “Anointing of the Sick;” and March 15 “Mother of Mercy,” begin each morning at 11 a.m. followed by Mass at noon.  The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the church after Mass and will remain until the evening service at 7 p.m.  Confessions will begin at 2 p.m. and again after the evening service at 7 p.m.  The March 16 conference will follow the same format of the other two days with the theme “The Divine Mercy,” and will include a special service for children and their parents at 4:45 p.m. with a Blessing of pretzels and an opportunity for Confession.

A bag lunch is suggested, light refreshments will be served in the parish center.  For information, call the parish office at 732-350-5001, Mon. to Fri. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or visit www.seaswhiting.org.
