Parish group supports adults affected by separation and divorce

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

The Healing Hearts Support Group, a ministry of St. Veronica Parish, Howell, has announced a new session to run on a weekly basis from October through February.

“Divorce and Beyond” will run on Thursdays, beginning Oct. 30 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Dates are subject to change depending on other parish events.

The program will be hosted in the library of St. Veronica School, and topics each week will vary, including stress, anger, blame, forgiveness, self-image, loneliness, annulment and spirituality.

“Divorce and Beyond” will be facilitated by Maria Rodrigues, who began the Healing Hearts Support Group to assist adults affected by the pain of separation and divorce. She is part of the Diocese of Trenton’s core group for the separated and divorced, as well as a member of the North American Conference of Separated and Divorced Catholics and the Catholic Divorce Ministry. She has successfully completed diocesan training programs and is also an advocate for the annulment process.

Space is limited in the upcoming session, Rodrigues said, and participants must register in advance. The cost to participate is $15, which covers the cost of a book, “Divorce and Beyond,” as well as a journal for participants to write in while reflecting on the sessions.

Those interested can contact Rodrigues at 732-363-5698 or [email protected] for more information and to register.
