Parish beach series to focus on early Christians
July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
St. Michael Parish, West End, will continue its summer tradition of small group meetings on the beach. For five weeks, the parish will use the book, “Stories of Early Christians” to explore some of the early Christians walking the beaches of the world including Mary of Nazareth, Matthias and Cornelius, to name a few, and how they appear in the Acts of the Apostles.
In the book, author Divine Word Father vanThanh Nguyen turns the spotlight on memorable characters that are often neglected. The characters are ordinary individuals who are open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and become friends of God.
The five sessions will be on the Atlantic Avenue beach of Seven Presidents Park (at Old Ocean Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in Long Branch) on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. beginning July 7. Participants are encouraged to bring their dinners while participating in lively discussion. The group is limited to 20 participants. A $15 book fee is due at the first session and registration is required.
For more information or to register, call Deacon Eugene Somma at 732-483-0360, ext. 12.
