Ocean County parish to celebrate 'Back to Church' Sunday Sept. 14

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

Sacred Heart Parish, Bay Head, has designated Sept. 14 as “Back to Church Sunday” when they will welcome back all Catholics who have left the church. All five weekend Masses will be celebrated with this special mission in mind; Father Michael J. O’Connor, pastor, will focus on the importance of religion in one’s life, the power of prayer and the benefits and values of being part of a Catholic community.

Father O’Connor, asserting a caring community helps guide Catholics through the world’s strife, noted, “We cannot make it on our own in life. We believe in something bigger than ourselves. God is always ready to welcome people back who want to make a new beginning.”

Parishioners plan to invite at least one person each, however, all are welcome to come on their own, especially young people and their families. Following each Mass, an informal reception will be held in the Church Hall.

Weekend Masses are celebrated Saturday at 5:15 p.m. and Sunday at 8:00 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Sacred Heart Parish is located at 751 Main Ave., Bay Head.
