'Nuestra Historia de Salvacion' presentation set for Aug. 19

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

The diocesan Department of Evangelization and Family Life will host a Spanish seminar, “Nuestra Historia de Salvacion” Aug. 19 in Holy Family Church, 1139 E. County Line Road, Lakewood.

The seminar’s sponsored by the Adult Faith Formation of the Diocese of Trenton Department of Evangelization and Family Life.

Josue Arriola, department director, will present the seminar which is the Spanish version of the Bible timeline. He will lead participants of highlights of Salvation History starting with the story of Creation through the present day.

This one-day seminar will help people learn to read the Bible and will explain the major people, places, events and themes of the Bible.

Laura Rivas, associate director of adult faith formation in the Department of Evangelization and Family Life, said the event will serve people in learning about the Holy Scripture in a way that’s understandable and engaging for them.

“It’s a wonderful tool that will help people learn the truth about the Holy Scripture, but in a way that’s easy and engaging – and in a way that people will be able to walk away and appreciate the written word of God,” said Rivas.

“People need to learn about their faith through the Holy Scripture so we want to encourage people, especially those in ministry where they’re in parish catechists or anyone in ministry to take time to learn the scripture and understand, and really take time to learn the Scripture in a way that’s easy to understand,” said Rivas. “The importance of it is helping the average person really learn about the Scripture, to be able really listen to the Scripture and what it’s saying to them.”

Cost to attend is $15, which includes meals and materials. To register by mail, make a check payable to the “Diocese of Trenton” and send it to: The Diocese of Trenton - 701 Lawrenceville Road, Trenton N.J. 08648.
