Novena set in St. Ann Parish July 18-26

St. Ann Parish, Lawrenceville, will hold its annual novena to their patron saint July 18-26 in the church at 1253 Lawrenceville Road. The days of prayer, titled “The Freedom to believe – Becoming an Adult Catholic,” will be led by Capuchin Father Simeon Gallagher during morning sessions weekdays at 9 a.m. and repeated at 7 p.m.

Father Gallagher is director of the Preaching Ministry Office of the Mid-America Province of the Capuchin Order. He has a wide background in conducting retreats, parish development programs, parish missions and other events around the world. Father Gallagher holds advanced degrees in religious education, ascetical theology, liberal arts and 19th century British literature.

The annual St. Ann Novena is a parish tradition to honor the woman who was mother to Blessed Virgin Mary and grandmother to Jesus. Throughout the years, St. Ann has been a source of inspiration and blessing for Christians around the world. She has been an effective advocate for handling the challenges that life brings. Each year many blessings are experienced through the novena.

All are invited to take part in the novena for as many days as their schedule allows. Pope Francis encourages us to “learn to be silent in our hearts and before God.” This is an opportunity to do just that.

For a detailed list of novena events, see the parish website at churchofsaintann.net, or call the parish office at 609-882-6491.
