Darlene S. Hanley, R.N., B.S.N., M.P.A., LNHA, CPHQ, FACHE, has been appointed as the new president and CEO of Morris Hall/St. Lawrence, Inc. Hanley succeeds Charles L. Brennan, who was president and CEO from December, 1991, until Jan. 31 of this year.

Hanley was the assistant administrator of operations in St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center since 1991, the licensed nursing home administrator since 2001 and the chief nursing officer since 2005. Prior to that, she served as the vice president of professional services in St. James Hospital, Newark.

Hanley received a master’s degree in public health administrationhealth care with honors at Seton Hall University, South Orange, in 1997, and her bachelor of science in nursing in 1977. She earned her licensed nursing home administrator (LNHA) certification in 2001, and became board certified in health care management as a fellow from the American College of Health Care Executives (FACHE) in 2007.

She has served on several advisory committees of the New Jersey Hospital Association, is a member of the Township of Lawrence Health Advisory Board and participated in the Regional Health Care Emergency Preparedness Consortium in 2009, in addition to numerous other civic affiliations.

Morris Hall and St. Lawrence are both not-for-profit agencies sponsored by the diocese.

Morris Hall consists of St. Mary’s Assisted and Residential Living and St. Joseph Skilled Nursing Center and ensures a total continuum of care in one secure location. Residents who are more independent choose to live in St. Mary’s Residence. Residents who require more assistance may live in St. Mary’s Assisted Living. Different levels of personal care are provided based on the needs of the individual.

St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Center consists of 120 beds and provides excellent long-term care. The professional staff includes physicians as well as registered nurses and licensed practical nurses, who are available 24 hours a day.

St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center is a 166-bed physical rehabilitation hospital that treats patients on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. The center is committed to maximizing the quality of human life by providing comprehensive physical rehabilitation and related programs to meet the needs of the community.

Hanley lives in Bridgewater with her husband, Cornelius, and they are the parents of two children. The Hanleys are members of St. Bernard Parish, Bridgewater.
