Mrs. June Eleanor O'Connell, mother of Bishop David M. O'Connell, C.M., and Mr. Daniel T. O'Connell, associate director of curriculum in the diocesan Department of Catholic Schools, passed away in Morris Hall, Lawrenceville, July 22, 2015, after a lengthy illness. She was 89 years old.

Mrs. O'Connell was born in Philadelphia June, 21, 1926, the second daughter of five children of the late James Patrick and Ella Donnelly.  A lifelong resident of Langhorne, Pa., she attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Penndel, Pa. and graduated from Maple Point High School in Langhorne. 

On July 26, 1946, she married Arthur John O'Connell, Sr., who predeceased her in 2005. Together the couple raised four sons: Arthur John, Jr.; Dennis Raymond; David Michael, and Daniel Timothy.  She has one surviving sister, Lorraine Hammond of Bensalem, Pa.; two daughters-in-law, Kathleen and Barbara;  six grandchildren: Sean Michael, Ryan Christopher, Jamie, Kelly, Shannon and Heather, and seven great grandchildren: Jamie, Jack, Kate, Lizzie, Abby, Grace and Lily.  One granddaughter, Tricia, predeceased her in 2004.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 28 in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Penndel, Pa.  Interment followed in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in her memory to: Morris Hall, One Bishop's Drive, Lawrenceville, NJ, 08648.
