Ministries sponsor Trenton CROP Walk
July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
CROP Walk, the original ecumenical charitable walking event to end hunger, steps off from Trinity Cathedral, 801 W. State Street, Trenton, at 2 p.m. on Oct. 20. Registration begins at 1 p.m.
The funds raised benefit over a half dozen well-known, worldwide hunger and disaster relief programs with 25 percent of the Trenton Walk funds dedicated to three local agencies: the Mount Carmel Guild; Mobile Meals of Trenton/Ewing and the Salvation Army.
This year, the walk is more special than usual for the congregation of Washington Ave. Baptist Church where the youth will be participating in memory of Patricia D. Martin, a longtime supporter of the event who died Jan. 29.
The Trenton Ecumenical Area Ministry, which is sponsoring the event, announced they are excited about the young people honoring Martin in this appropriate way. Martin was on the staff of the Diocesan Chancery in the Department of Pastoral Care.
