Mercy Sister Mary Donlin, former teacher at Notre Dame High School, dies at 86

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 5 in McAuley Hall Health Care Center, Watchung, for Mercy Sister Mary Donlin, who died Jan. 3 at age 86.
Born and raised in South Amboy, the former Sister Mary Reparata entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1941. She held a bachelor’s degree in social studies from Georgian Court University, Lakewood, and a master’s degree in U.S. history from Villanova University, Villanova, Pa.
She taught in Catholic elementary and secondary schools in the Dioceses of Trenton, Metuchen and Camden.
In the Trenton Diocese, she taught in Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville, from 1978-1980; was assistant coordinator of the diocesan Senior Citizen Program from 1980 to 1982, and was a secretary in St. Francis Medical Center Clinic, Trenton, from 1982 to 1985.
Sister Mary was buried in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
